Appliance repair FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything El Cajon homeowners ask us before booking a repair. If your question is not here, just call and ask.
- How fast can you get to my El Cajon home?
- Most El Cajon customers see a technician the same day, usually within 2 to 4 hours of calling. Our trucks are stocked with the parts that fail most often, so a large share of repairs are finished on the first visit.
- Do you charge for a diagnostic visit?
- There is a flat diagnostic fee for the trip and full inspection, and it is applied toward the repair when you approve the work. You always get the total price before we pick up a tool.
- Do you work on high-end appliances like Sub-Zero and Wolf?
- Yes. Our technicians are trained on premium brands including Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Miele and Bosch, as well as every mainstream brand sold in San Diego County.
- Can you repair smart and WiFi-connected appliances?
- We do. Samsung Family Hub refrigerators, LG ThinQ laundry, and connected Bosch and Whirlpool units are all in our wheelhouse, including control board and sensor faults.
- Which areas do you cover besides El Cajon?
- We cover all of East County and much of San Diego County — including Santee, La Mesa, Lakeside, Spring Valley, Alpine, Lemon Grove, Rancho San Diego, Chula Vista, Poway, Escondido and the city of San Diego.
- Does East County hard water damage appliances?
- It shortens their life. Mineral scale clogs dishwasher spray arms, coats washer inlet valves and heating elements, and blocks refrigerator water lines and ice makers. We descale during service and can advise on filtration that pays for itself.
- Is it worth repairing an older appliance?
- Generally yes if the repair costs less than half of a replacement and the appliance is under about ten years old. We give you the honest answer even when it means telling you not to repair it.
- What warranty do you offer?
- Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on both parts and labor. If the same fault returns within that window, we come back at no additional charge.
- Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
- Yes, there is a standard diagnostic fee for the visit, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the work. You will know the amount before we come out — no surprises.
- Should I repair or replace my appliance?
- Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new unit and the appliance is under about ten years old, repairing is usually the better value. We will tell you honestly when replacement makes more sense, even though it means we do not get the job.
- Do you work on high-end and built-in appliances?
- Yes. We regularly service Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Bosch and Miele built-ins throughout El Cajon, Mount Helix and Rancho San Diego, including panel-ready and integrated installations.
- How long does a typical repair take?
- Most repairs are completed in 45 to 90 minutes once we are on site. If a specialty part has to be ordered we will give you a firm timeline and there is no extra trip charge to come back and install it.
- Do you service appliances in rental properties?
- Absolutely. We work with landlords, property managers and HOAs across East County and can coordinate access with tenants directly.
- Why do appliances fail faster in East County?
- Two local factors: inland summer heat that pushes garage refrigerators and freezers past their rated ambient temperature, and hard water that scales up dishwasher heating elements, washer valves and ice makers. We address the underlying cause, not just the failed part.
